WDM5.7.1 - Wake on LAN package will remain in Scheduled Packages

I will start Wyse 3020 in the morning using WDM and plan to turn off the power in the evening.
However, it is facing a serious problem!

I have set up a regular WOL package from WDM. （The first will succeed.）
However, the WOL package will remain in [Scheduled Packages] even the next day.
I will not disappear even when I wait...

I confirmed the following.
- With this influence, the next Wake on LAN package will not be sent.
- Packages will not be sent unless you remove the remaining package every time.
- Packages sent in [Real Time Commands] will end normally.

Do you have any solutions?

WDM Scripting - Registry Keys - Kiosk mode

I'm trying to set some registry keys so that the standard User will get a different GUI/Shell (not explorer.exe) on the Windows 8 Thin Clients.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\Shell

Kind of a Kiosk mode.

But tried several ways, even the MR (Merge Registry) way to get the specific key loaded to a Z90D8 client. But haven't had any luck so far.

Anybody else who has tackled this problem ?

Wyse Software download

I just received 35x Dell Wyse 7040 Thin Client that I want to update to WIE10. The download speed of the file 7040_0A27_32GB.exe on the Wyse website is very slow (100kb/s --> 24 hours download time) and unreliable. Now after many trails, hours of waiting and phone calls to Dell I am out of options.

PLEASE HELP!!

WDM PXE Imaging behind router

Hello everyone,

We’re running a small WDM 5.7.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 with PXE Imaging for the D90D7 Clients. Some Clients still got an old boot Agent 2.7.3

 

We got these subnets:

192.168.10.0/24 - WDM-Server / First DHCP-Server / Lots of clients

192.168.11.0/24 - No Servers

192.168.12.0/24 - Second DHCP-Server

192.168.13.0/24 - No Servers

 

All subnets are connected by a dirk fiber and routers. Now we have big problems with the PXE Imaging. It seems our clients from the second DHCP-Server are unable to communicate with the WDM while booting the pxe.

Has anyone experience with these problem?

WDM 5.7.2 Enterprise Unlicensed Clients

Good day

i have a WDM Server with 1069 licenses for WDM Enterprise currently running ver 5.7.2.  with in that i currently only have 901 active Wyse ThinClients in the console.  We've recently purchased 16 Wyse Windows 10 ioT devices but the device manager does not want to license them event though have over enough licenses.  

I know that a similar posts have been about issues like that but i have tried deleting older clients to see if it frees up a license, installed the newest hagent etc but this has not solved the problem either.

Please assist urgently!

New Installation of WDM 5.7.2

Hallo,

after we maid a new Installation of our WDM 5.7.2. Workstation, we have some Problems by imaging WES7 Client in one of our Subnet.

We have two Subnet with own DHCP-Servers. The WDM is in SUB2. In Sub2 all WDM Funktion work perfekt inkl. WES7 Imaging.

In SUB1 everithing works, but we cannot push or pull an WES7 Image from there. The two Subnet are connetced by Router from our Provider.

On DCHP Server SUB1 we set DHCP to :

DNS SRV is also set. The WES Client in SUB1 starting the Imaging-Prozess until stating Merlin. Then i get the following Error :

What can be the Problem ? I Need some help.

WDM 5.7.2 Enterprise - install DB to a dedicated SQL server

We're looking to install the Enterprise version of WDM 5.7.2 having road-tested the Workgroup version for a while now. Our company does not allow SQL Express installs in our production environment hence the need for Enterprise and to use an existing SQL server.

Before I'm allowed to run the install on a Dev SQL server and choose the Database option I need to know the SQL server collation type - it is the default 'Latin1_General_CI_AS'? - as we have several different types and the DBA doesn't want a mix of collations on any of his servers.

Also, does anyone have any advice or instructions for migrating the database from a dev SQL server to a Prod SQL server? Am wondering if there are any WDM specifics to know about.

Can't get WDM to install

I am trying to do a new installation of the workgroup version of WDM.  I first tried 5.7.1 and I get the error "The wyseinstall.dll could not be loaded into memory.  Please try again or call Wyse technology support for assistance."

I tried re-downloading the installer, but same result.  I googled the error, and saw somewhere that 5.7 has to be installed first.  When I try to install that, or 5.5 or 5.5.1, I get a windows screen that says "This app can't run on your PC.  To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher."

This is server 2012 R2.  It's not a DC, it's not running DNS or DHCP or anything much. 

I would appreciate any help with this.  This is my first experience with WDM.

WDM unable to get device configuration, stays in-progress

I'm very new to WDS having just started looking into it and installing WDM 5.0 Workgroup this week. I'm wanting to use WDM to update Windows CE and reconfigure some S30 thin clients for a server change. I've been able to do everything I've tried so far except this one thing. When I try to right-click a device and Get Device Configuration, it goes through the wizard fine, but it stays in Scheduled Packages as In-Progress. Checking the folder with the name I gave it in the repository folder in Explorer, no file ever shows up. The scheduled item will fail if I reboot the thin client, but I've let it sit for quite a while and still get nothing.

So far for troubleshooting, I've disabled Windows firewall. Is there something else I'm missing?

I have downloaded Wyse device manager 5.7.2. In the administration booklet PCOIP device manager tab is given under Application. But its not present in my Interface image attached. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, we have an environment with about 1500 WTOS 8.1 devices. Models are C10LE, R10L, D10D and 5010.

The plan is to install WDM to get a better understanding about the clients, numbers and where they are located. Would an installation of WDM in any way break current "management" with FTP only? DHCP scope options are used, and would be extended with server options. Plan is to use the same server as current FTP server.

How to Add Active Directory Users to WebUI in 5.7.2?

Hello,

how am i supposed to add AD-Users to the WebUI when there is no more WDM UI in 5.7.2?
Adding a User in WebUI only gives me local Users, no AD here.
It worked back then in the WDM UI, but it has gone.

Hi All,

I have configured WDM 5.7.2 in VM By bridge LAN setting on windows server 2012 R2 Essentials,

im now able to connect to WDM web UI, but while searching for devices it shows " Unable to get server details, pls ensure installation is successful and Try again".

pls help to get this done.

How to mak a registry value change on a client with write protect enabled

I would like to make an registry value change on a client, but he client has the write protect enabled. So, how do i first disable the write protection, then reboot en then make the registry value change and then reboot and set the write protect on enabled again. Can it be done with one package ?

Failed WDM 5.5 installation: unable to find standard server at 0.0.0.0

Just tried to install WDM 5.5 on fresh Win7x64 installation.  When launching WDM, I get two error notices in the Service Logs:

Source: GUI;  Description:  unable to find standard service at server 0.0.0.0 and port 8008.

Source: Testing Connections; Description: Failed to connect to WDM (DHCP)

In the Component Details Report, all components are set to the WDM server IP, except for Standard Services which is showing 0.0.0.0

In addition, HServer is not starting automatically, though it's set that way.  I have to manually start it.

I've done this twice, reverting to the fresh Win7 installation for the second try.  First I simply ran the WDM 5.5 installer, the second time I configured IIS according to the details provided in the WDM 4.9.1 Install Guide.  Same outcome.

Any thoughts on what went wrong?

wtos device check in but cannot access system profile

I’ve setup the dhcp option and T10 (8.0.411) check in to WDM 5.7.2 fine, but still failed to get wnos.ini. Got error saying that

SSL: ERR_TCP_CONNECT_ERROR!
SSL unable to setup connection err=-5914
cannot access system profile

Already define Addcertificate=privateCA.crt on wnos.ini and tried the manual usb installation of the CA still no luck.

WMS on premise is not working properly

Hi,

This is Akbar from Honeywell,

Currently I am testing the WMS for our official use to manage the Wyse Z90DE7 /7010 thin client.

I have done below steps in my lab.

  • Created a WMS server on Server 2016 OS with local repository on premise Std version.
  • Created a group policy on WMS server.
  • Connected 3no’s of Z90 on the workgroup.
  • Installed WDA13.0.0.167 on all Z90
  • Manually configured WDA to talk with WMS server.
  • All 3no’s of Z90 got listed in WMS server. 

After this when I started testing the functionality of WMS I get lot of difficulties and most of the time it is not working. Like,

  • When tried pulling the OS image of particular device it is pulling only the commandxml file not the full OS.
  • IP address not listing, Device log, Performance monitoring, device restart, app pushing, schedule job of app not working.

Anyone help me?

How to configure a Wyse thin client without using FTP ? Please...

Hello,

My asking could be a little bit stranger , but it 's necessary for me.

I have got 10 wyse thin client , which must be connect to my TSE.  But we work only at the office ( 1 physical site) and sometimes we have some probblems of internet connection ( That's the France !) .

That's the reason why I want that all wyse don't need to connect to FTP server, and for 10 wyse I think that it's not necessary to maintain a FTP server and to instal a soft on my server.

So I have 2 questions:

1/ is it possible to disable on a wise the connection to FTP .

2/ Is it possible to duplicate the configuration of one Wyse to each other by using USB key ?
